Suggestions for new students

At first i thought it was boring because of the faculty’s long lectures but after some lecture i could realize, the faculty actually wanted to give us the full concept. When i started giving IOA i finally understood the matter. So I started reading the book beside his slides. Actually i tried to follow his instructions. that's why I was able to do better in his all IOAs which helped me a lot getting an 'A".

Before the mid-term exam or final exam i tried to review all of his previous lectures and revised all the topics. During assignment or project time i always made group discussion which is very much helpful for the assignment and project. I also made continuous communication with faculty directly or over telephone when i found a problem. Another thing to say, new students should give some times in his office room whether they do not understand the topic discussed in the class because the faculty is helpful and friendly. Students need to do hard work in his subject, i know it may some difficult for students but surely if one can understand his lectures he/she might be doing better for the next related courses and you will also enjoy his classes.
I would like to suggest you (all the new students) that please try to follow all the instructions and try reading the book beside his slides, specially try to do better in IOA. and try to co-ordinate with him . If possible, try to spend some time with him which will help you a lot. Do not memorize all the thing, try to get the concepts and for the math parts- you have to practice. If you need any information or any help you can contact with me. I would like very much to help you studying for the course and feel free to call me at my number "01727468915" or message me at facebook ID "masud_parvez92@yahoo.com". thank you.

Wish you all best of luck.

To get an A it is very important to study regularly. IOAs helped me a lot. For giving IOA I had to read the text book thoroughly. So it covered the maximum part of MIDs and Final. Then I had to read the lecture slides and class notes. Being attentive and taking notes in class is really important. The Assignments, GAs and Labs are also important to get an A. Whenever I had any problem I got help from the instructor.

So follow the instructions and study regularly, Inshaallah you will also able to get an A. Best of luck to all.

Study is the first condition to get an A in any course. Except regular study, exam, report there are 2 things that helped me a lot to get an A and they are -
a) Utilizing all the scope to get bonus marks;
b) Giving all the IOAs properly that helped me a lot to pull marks in mids and final.
Above all I shared all of my problems with my faculty and he is really friendly. I always give the first priority to the text book. Lecture slides are also very important. I read the questions that are given in the text book. All these things helped me to get an A and I believe anyone can get an A if he/she maintains these strategies.

Well to be precise getting an A was not that easy. I myself is a lazy person. The best way is to read the chapters thoroughly, try to understand the concepts. Understanding the topic is the main thing to do. Read all the slides and relate the topics with the book. Attending all the IOA's will not only give you a chance for better grade, but they will also allow you to better prepare for the midterms/finals. Try to solve the sample questions from previous semesters which are available in the website. Practice the mathematical and critical problems. Also pay attention to all the diagrams and charts. They help you to better understand the topic.

One big advantage of doing the course with Adeyl Khan (AyN) sir is that he gives a lot of opportunities for scoring bonus points. These points are based on your participation, try to score them. Follow the guidelines and fell free to consult with sir if you face any difficulties.

One last advice, do not wait till the night before exam to prepare for it. Try to maintain a schedule. Do not keep your project work untouched till eleventh hour. Communicate regularly with your group members so you don’t fall behind preparing your term project. Try to understand the project and if there is any particular software related to it, then try to understand the uses of that software by going through tutorials. Again, consult with the faculty if you fail to understand anything. Finally, always try to be creative and innovative in your response to the questions of exams and in preparing the projects.

Doing well in any of the courses requires a bit of hard work and a lot of smart learning. Trust me, getting an A is not that difficult, you just need to be regular. Try to be attentive in sir's classes and do keep in touch with the course textbook. Ioas tend to be tricky so the book needs to be thoroughly read. Doing well in the assignments is also vital, collaborate well and do not depend on anyone. Study ahead so that a lot is not piled up right before the exam.Try to enjoy the studies, it might help. Best of luck!

Getting an A is not actually that tough, you have to have focus and be diligent all throughout the semester. I used to think that smartness is the key but I got to learn that diligence trumps smartness if the smart one is not diligent.

I am a very lazy person, and I procrastinate a lot, who does not, but this seriously affects the grade unless you plan ahead. Planning ahead can prove to be very important in doing good in a course. Actually, I learned about a lot about planning and forecasting in an organized way in MGT314 course, but I have been implementing it well ahead for my other courses and my life. There will be early start, early finish, slack etc in the planning and actually can give you a planned procrastination until you really have to study and you will know when to study.( I am not suggesting you to procrastinate)

Another important thing is that nothing substitutes the course book, this is to say that the slides are as good as just a skeleton of the course materials. The slides can give you maybe a "B" if you are lucky, but if you want to get an "A", then go through the book at least once and make sure you cover everything. Understanding the materials is enough because if you understand you can write it and explain, no need to memorize or anything. I am a perfectionist and I have my way of studying. First of all I count the pages I have to cover and then I find out how long I need to finish it i.e. I plan my timing ( I know how many pages I can cover in a minute).

For the projects try to be innovative and try to actually learn from your work. And do not leave everything for the last moment, because your work will show your hastiness.

I would like very much to help you studying for the course and feel free to message me at facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ragib.aninda

Reviewing the IOAs before an exam, research of topics or sub-topics that are difficult to grasp, preparing the cheat sheet, with priority to the formulas, and focusing on the highlighted points in a chapter. That is basically how I faced this course.

I mostly followed the text book for Mgt 314 course. I gave more emphasis on the topics covered by the lecturer in the class. For the midterms and final, l practiced the mathematical questions covered by the instructor. The questions will contain a lot of mathematical problems, so it will be very helpful if you concentrate more on those. There are sample questions provided in the website which will provide a good idea about the question pattern. I was very careful about doing well in IOAs as those carry a lot of marks. For assignments and projects, I followed all the information and samples provided in the website. So, I would like to say that, you need to be very sincere about the course and follow all the instructions of the lecturer thoroughly. Then it’s not very hard to get an A.

The simplest way to obtain A in the course is to follow each and every rules of our instructor; Mr. Adeyl Khan. I always checked out the course website and did every task the instruction.

In each IOA, I was serious to study the course book. This helps me to do well in Mid-terms and Final exams. Before exams, I took important notes in the cheat-sheet which also helped me in the exam hall.

I prepared the Assignments by maintaining all the instructions and got help from the samples which were provided in course website. In the term project, I went to my company physically and gathered information as the directions of the instructor.

I always went to Mr. Adeyl Khan when I faced any difficulties and he helped and showed me the right directions.

I wish all of you for achieving A and be present beside us in this “Outstanding Student” list. Good luck!

For this course I followed materials include the book, lectures and slides (books especially). I finished reading the chapters on daily basis. Regular study helped me a lot. My regular attendance also helped me to increase my percentage.
Before sitting on the exam, I thoroughly read the materials I mentioned above the paragraph. While reading I could find my gaps and note those on my cheat sheet. In case of lab preparation; several times I practiced it at home and then if I found any problem, I would find my instructor in his office hours and he helped me and also showed me the proper way to do that with very friendly behavior.
I was very benefitted with the assignments. But it is the work to perform very sincerely according to the guidelines as I followed and got good marks. Communication gap with the group members can cause of troubling in assignment preparation.
For the term project, I started to work from the day it was announced. I mainly followed the rules, regulations and guidelines to do better in term project. Standard format of writing, clean and clear assignment, appropriate references also made my project more worthy to the instructor.
Hard work and properly obeying the rules, guidelines brought me success in this course. That is all about how I could do better in this course.

Getting an "A" grade in all the three courses was quite difficult, especially in MGT 314 but it was possible only with hard work. It is a must to attend all the classes because the lectures are as important as self-study and also for the bonuses for attendance, etc. I once even got a bonus for the 'best cheat sheet' so you never know what you can get a bonus for. It is important to prepare your cheat sheets with utmost care because this is like a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" at NSU and helps a lot during exams! Also for the assignments you must follow all the instructions provided (policies, etc) and consult with Sir from time to time as his guidance really helps. Last but not the least I would like to quote Mike Tyson, who said, "As long as we persevere and endure, we can get anything we want."
Best of luck!

I tried to understand the topics that were discussed in the class and also went through the book which helped me prepare for the exams. I also gave importance to the IOAs and gave those online quizzes honestly. Rather than depending on the “cheat sheet”, I tried to understand the critical topics and discussed my problems with the faculty. During our group project, I communicated with my group members regularly to make sure we weren’t behind schedule. A simple advice for all of you: Try to find out the answers from the sample questions that are given in the website. It really helped me a lot to get an A! Good luck J

To be honest, my way of getting an A might not be the best way possible but it worked for me as most of the time I study for the exams this way. I always used to start one day before the exam dates and used to allocate around 3 hours for each chapter. Going through the entire chapters from the book is a must if someone wants to do well in the exams and the IOAs are also to be taken very seriously. The IOAs also help to prepare for the exams in advance. The review or the sample questions from the website also helped a lot during the exam. For the presentation and group report, it is essential to take help from Sir during his office hours and use the office hours effectively. Finding fun in the way of education is the only shortcut of achieving success in education.

The chapters of our text book were really huge. So I wanted pointed out the most important topics of each chapter and went through the slides to make sure I understood the critical points rather than memorizing them. Apart from that, my group did well in the presentation by following the steps that were described by our honorable sir. The bottom line is, I had to do well in every department (such as Group Presentation, Mid Exams, Final Exam, Attendance) to make sure I not only get an A but also learn something from this course.

First of all, thanks to Allah for ensuring that I could execute all my plans. If you want to get an A or A-, you need to read the book thoroughly, do the IOAs honestly (its for your own good), and go through the slides. Do not overemphasize on the cheat sheet (if any). And lastly, study the book very well if you want to score above 90%. I did this and paid a lot of attention when sir used to show maths/graphs/anything else in class. Also, pay a lot of attention to the group assignments because they can turn your grade upside down if you do not do them well enough. A good group project and healthy exam scores can ensure good grades for you. And do not hesitate to ask questions to sir no matter how lame you think they may be. Last word of advice: STUDY THE BOOK HARD!

The course was challenging and at the same time I was able to learn a lot of things new. Any student having similar approach will end up with very good results at the end. :)
